Adokwe-Obed<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"ekit-team-modal-position\">Director<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"ekit-team-modal-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDr. Comfort Ayine Adokwe-Obed is a scholar, researcher, academic administrator, and gender policy expert whose work sits at the intersection of public policy, governance, gender analysis, and development. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Administration, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and currently serves as the Director of the Centre for Gender Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, a position she has held since February 2026.\nWith a multidisciplinary academic foundation in Public Administration and Gender Studies, Dr. Comfort brings a distinctive policy-oriented perspective to the study and advancement of gender equality. Her area of specialization, Public Policy and Gender Analysis, reflects her scholarly commitment to examining how public policies, governance structures, institutions, and development interventions affect women, men, and diverse social groups.\nShe holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, alongside master\u2019s degrees in Public Administration and Gender Studies. Her academic career at the University spans several ranks and responsibilities, progressing from Graduate Assistant to Senior Lecturer. Her teaching and research interests include public policy analysis, governance, gender and development, women's empowerment, political participation, social protection, public-sector administration, and gender-responsive approaches to development.\nDr. Comfort has demonstrated significant academic and institutional leadership within Nasarawa State University. Before her current appointment as Director, she served as Deputy Director (Academics), Centre for Gender Studies, where she contributed to the academic development and institutional advancement of the Centre. She has also served as Deputy Director of Programs, MPA Coordinator, Postgraduate Examination Officer, Assistant Director at the Centre for Gender Studies, and in several other university-level academic and administrative capacities.\n\nAs a researcher and author, Dr. Comfort has contributed to scholarly conversations on public policy, governance, gender equality, women's political and economic empowerment, social protection, public-sector reform, and development. Her publications include the books Public Policy and Gender Advancement and Navigating Nigeria\u2019s Policy Crossroads, alongside peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and academic training materials. Her research and scholarly engagements demonstrate a sustained interest in connecting academic knowledge with contemporary governance and gender-development challenges in Nigeria.\nHer academic leadership is complemented by extensive engagement in university community service and public-oriented initiatives. She has participated in university ethics and conduct, quality assurance, accreditation, malpractice, faculty development, and institutional training activities. She has also contributed to initiatives focused on mentoring young feminists, ending violence against women and girls, youth career development, women's leadership, and social protection.\nAs Director of the Centre for Gender Studies, Dr. Comfort is committed to strengthening the Centre as a platform for research, teaching, policy engagement, advocacy, capacity development, and evidence-based dialogue on gender and development. Her leadership is anchored in the conviction that meaningful gender transformation requires rigorous scholarship, inclusive institutions, responsive public policy, and sustained engagement between academia, government, civil society, and communities.\nThrough her scholarship, teaching, leadership, and public engagement, Dr. Comfort Adokwe continues to contribute to the advancement of He coordinates the Centre\u2019s Programmes, Partnerships, and capacity-building Initiatives, with a focus on gender equality, social inclusion, research and sustainable development. Drawing on his experience in programme management, monitoring and evaluation, and applied research, he supports the design and implementation of evidence-based interventions that strengthens institutional impact and community development.
